About Pirates Lacrosse

Our Mission

Pirates Lacrosse Club is a nonprofit organization committed to growing youth lacrosse while creating a competitive, positive, challenging, and fun environment for boys and girls of all ethnicities and cultures in Clark County, Nevada. It is our mission to develop skills, athleticism, teamwork, and leadership in our players. These skills will help improve physical conditioning, lacrosse skills, and an understanding of the sport. We believe hard work, strength of character, and intelligence are the primary means of achieving positive results, both on and off the field. Through our passionate leadership, state-of-the-art facilities, and dedication to long-term elite development at every age group, we strive to be the best lacrosse club in Nevada.

What We Expect from Our Club

We expect our players to make practices, be ready to start on time and commit fully throughout the entire practice. We expect our players to lead the league in sportsmanlike behavior. We will bench players for unsportsmanlike behavior and will not tolerate disrespectful behavior towards coaches, teammates, competitors, parents, or officials. We expect our players to become well-conditioned athletes during the season. Lacrosse is the fastest sport on two legs and requires endurance. We will run regularly in practice as part of our commitment to physical conditioning.

We expect our parents to lead by example and demonstrate great sportsmanship towards our opponents, referees, and fans. We expect parents to support their children to arrive at practices and games on time, fully dressed, with all the right equipment in all the right places. We hope that our parents will support the Pirates Lacrosse Club as volunteers, team parents, and assistant coaches.

We expect our coaches to facilitate a healthy learning environment for their team and to focus on improving the progress the team makes regarding effort and teamwork in addition to the outcome of a game or record. Our coaches will instill a positive attitude in all players and will conduct themselves and their team in a manner that represents our program, community, and sport well. We expect our coaches to attend coaching clinics and attain certifications to enable them to help our players even more.

We expect our Board to lead by example.  The board members will facilitate fundraising, recruitment, and scheduling. The Board will provide quality communication with the teams, coaches, and families associated with the club.  Board members will work with the community at large and will partner with a charity on an annual basis. Board members will be open and transparent and will provide a vision for the club that best meets the needs and wants of the community.
